La Guilde

In 2019, I developed the education programs offered to schools for the Canadian Guild of Crafts.

The Guild is a museum and non-profit organization that offers activities related to the concepts studied in class in the field of Social Studies and Visual Arts. Its programs are aimed at elementary and high school students and deal with Indigenous culture and languages. It allows the development of different competencies of the Quebec Education Program. For example, in history, the Guild explores the competency of being open to the diversity of societies and territories through exploring objects in its collection. At the same time, in visual arts, it touches on the skill of appreciating artworks, cultural objects from the artistic heritage, media images, one's own creations and those of one's peers, and examining a work of art with regard to socio-cultural aspects for all cycles. The Guild also proposes a program to discover new avenues of creation and appreciation by looking at the materials associated with fine crafts. The Guild even provides access to its backstage, allowing students to discover its role as a museum, its mission, its various trades and the steps involved in putting together an exhibition.
